Comfort only the Gospel can bring.

Well hello!

Well this week was good and hard at the same time. You all heard about the Elder that passed away. He had an asthma attack and that was really hard for everyone. I personally didn't know him but I saw a lot of the missionaries suffering. They had a really beautiful service for him.

Also in our ward a really, really tragic accident happened. One of the members and her son were killed by a fire. Their house caught on fire and they got trapped inside. It was something soooo heartbreaking and horrible and the whole ward was suffering. Also a young man in our ward with a brain tumor passed away. We were able to go visit a lot of people this week and give them comfort that only the Gospel can bring. On Sunday a lot of less active members were at church. When something like this happens, it brings a lot of people together. But many prayers would be appreciated.

I went on divisions with one of my best friends on the mission= Hermana Garcia. :) We had a blast and felt the Spirit so strong together. There are certain people that you just click with and we truly clicked. It was a really special division that we had. And we saw miracles!!

We found a family that has a son with emotional problems. We visited his house and asked for him and he came right out of his room and was looking into our eyes and answering all our questions and it was so special. You could feel the love from God in the room.

When we invited him to be baptized, he smiled so big and said yes. And he was so happy...he just said.."thank you." and he said the prayer and asked to be healed. His mom and his aunt started tearing up and said that he never leaves his room and he doesn't look at anyone in the eyes and he came out when we taught him. These moments are so amazing.

Lots of other things happened too! My hair is burning to a crisp and I don't know what to do. Its like when you have split ends but my whole head feels like that. its from the intense heat. So today I am going to look for a heat protectant or something so I don't come home bald.

Hey! Hermana Bram and Kim came to visit me yesterday at church!! It was so special to see them. We ate lunch and it was really nice.

I loved the pics you sent me of adorable Maxy Poo and the house! I like the new couches. It makes the room look really different but I like it. :)

Wow! That is so amazing that Sister Knapp wants to do a clothes drive!! That is soooooo nice. I think that would be so appreciated here! Tell her thank you so much. And thank you for wanting to help! There are a lot of investigators and recent converts that don't have very many clothes to go to church. They will be so grateful.

Aunt Colleen and Uncle Terry are going to be living in utah?! Wowy! That is incredible. Pretty soon the whole family will be living there. p.s. how was pioneer day? Did you all put bonnets on and stuff?

I love you!! p.s. I have a new mission address if you want to send me things.

This is an amazing family. This sweet wife wrote a poem about how she wants her family to be sealed for all eternity and she asked me to write a song about it. So I did and played it for them. :)

SURPRISE! Give us the keys to your apartment.

Hola Mi familiacita...

I hope you imagine this email in a latin accent. Read in Latin accent for full effect.

This week was very, very interesting. (Ok, you can stop the accent now).

One, because our president and wife came to our zone for interviews and it was awesome! Also a little nerve-wracking because they got there and then they told us, give us your keys and we are going to go check all your houses and take pictures - Surprise!!!!!! And we were like....oh snap.
Not that our house was extremely dirty but it wasn't perfect that's for sure!

So we gave our keys and they went. And then after they showed us all the pics in front of everyone and we all got a good talking to. But I learned some really good things because he told us that keeping our house clean keeps us close to divine things. And the temple is the example of what our house should look like. So this week and from now on our house is completely spotless. :) We are learning some great things here.

What else? We met some really interesting people this week and some families! We met Claudia on a bus and she invited us to her house. If you could only see how many interesting people we meet everyday.

Claudia and Jairo and their kids are really cute! They are on fire reading the Book of Mormon! Im serious. For a lot of people it's hard to help them read but with Claudia she tells us things like "Hermanas, I haven't read that much this week! Only 4 chapters!*"and we are all shocked like wow! She is one of the most humble people I've ever met. Their family is what we call golden. She has a really bad sickness and she doesn't have the medicine to help her but she trusts so much in God. I feel so much love for her.

It rained a lot and we saw some sad things and some hard things happened but this week will be better and Im happy. :) a bird also landed on my head bit my finger. Enjoy the pic.
Such a sweet little bird, right?
WRONG.

Hermanas for life.

Word on the Street

I don/t know what is happening but we are seeing miracles here. We
found another family and they have been to church two times and they
want to get married and baptized! They are amazingly prepared. They
have very little but they still save up money every week to go to church.
Our investigator gave me a necklace that she made and gave
Hermana M a little doll that she made.
They are just amazing people.

In Tejar this week I went on divisions to San Carlos again. It was
really rainy with a lot of hills. I was with Hermana F and it was
so fun with her! I love divisions because sometimes all people need is a little boost-
something different because sometimes the mission can get stressful.
So its fun to just have fun.

I memorized all the Articles of Faith in Spanish! My president requires a lot and is
amazing. I like him. He has a lot of energy. He is very loving.
He is way different from President Wilkinson but in a good way. They are both incredible! And he tells us that he is our dad. One thing I love about him is the way he treats the hermanas. He always tells us that we are princesses and treats us with so much respect. I love that.

Also I just wanted to ask you if at the end of my mission can I give away all my clothes? There are so many people that don't have church clothes and I have already given away some pieces but at the end I think I am just going to give away most of it.

Love you, Bye!

Hey, I'm down!

Well hello. :))

I am so happy you all had such an amazing 4th of july! That really sounds fun. I hope you can all feel my love especially with all the things you are going through in the family. You all are warriors...

This week was a week of miracles and craziness because we were planning for a wedding and a baptism for the family Davila Carrillo and we needed to help them sell arroz con leche to help pay for it, and it went so well! All the members helped and it was just a miracle how well it turned out. The wedding and baptism was soooooooo special! I will send you pics. They were beaming. I love this family with all my heart. They are so cute.

We also moved houses this week. Its because my companion was breaking out in rashes all the time from being in there because it was really humid. We found a cute little apartment! My companion and I were struggling one morning because we were both a little sick and we had to pack everything and our minds were just not working. We decided to put the Lord first. So we studied first, and we said a prayer that we could have someone help us. Right after that, Hermana Maria, a member called us and said "Im outside". She came in and,  just like a mom, ordered us around and we packed the whole house in an hour. It was a miracle! Now we feel really good and happy in our new apartment. The Lord really does hear every prayer.

We met our new mission president! Oh my goodness he is awesome. He is really strict but so loving! The way he runs this mission is a little like the military but hey, I'm down! We have to memorize all the Articles of Faith and different things. And now we can't drink cola. But the truth is that it is better for our health. But I love him! He has so much energy!!! We now have a new motto as a mission. He asks us: a que aspiramos?! (what do we hope for?) and we respond El reino de dios o nada! (the kingdom of God or nothing) como lo lograremos? (how will we achieve it?) and we respond CON FE EN CADA PASO! (with faith in every footstep!). REALLY LOUD. It is the best. I am so excited for this mission. Things are just going to go up from here.

I love you all so much!! Have a wonderful weeeeeeeeeeeeeek-.
